V. We interviewed individuals to see what their response would be to my plan. Their responses are as follows. I had interviewed my father about censorship in the media. at first he didnt see a problem with how the media was censored but as i set examples such as artist who express themselves through explicit arts and the government limits the exposure of their arts to the public. As i set more and more exaples of media censoring he began to disagree with it. He clearly stated "I never knew the government had so much control on how the people express themselves. I thought this was America and people should be able to have their rights." He later elaborated by explaining that he does not believe children should watch porn but he says it is a part of growing up and wether parents want to or not their children will be exposed to it sooner or later. But he still agrees that media should not be censored and concluded with agreeing that parents should have the control of over what their children can watch.
Another of my interview included my high school graduate Jenny. As I explained What media Censorship was and included exaples she started to explain that people's opinions and expressions should not be limited by government control. She disagrees with the censorship but also explained that with her kids being young and such she also does not want them to be overwhelmed with the negativity of pornogrophy and violence available all over the media. When I explained our solution she said she agreed with the media not being censored as long as she as a parent could set a limit as to how much negative media could reach their media.
Nadia I interviewed Kandice Modene and Sean Doherty, In an interview with Kandice Modene, she states, "she is all for less censorship in daily life". She agreed with the solution of the law and how specific it was. She said, "I hate that people think nude art is pomiscuous, I think it's beatiful and people should not discredit the artist by banning his work, because conservative parents think it's porn". As for the interview with Sean Doherty, he said "the idea of the law is okay, but what are the punishments if the teachers, or art museum owners, or anyone that has the authority to ban something that could be offensive from any establishment?" Sean's question rose a good idea which made me think of what could be done to enforce the law. Ritchie
Fabian Salinas- Anyone should be able to hear and see whatever they whant no matter how bad the truth is. Music is a way for people to express themselves and it is more than just the bad words, it has a meening to it and people have a right to speek their mind.
Erica Garcia- Media should be strictly cencored to protect our citizens and keep our counrty united, including the public media entertainment because that type of enviornment is going to be around our kids even if we prohibid to watch it. the type of media is already messing up the way our kids act and are we dont whant them to be comepletly exposed to it even more.
VI. Our answers, based on our research, to their objections and concerns are:That we really do not have freedom of expression. There is only certain things that the government let's us see. And there is only certain things that we are able to say. At school if we say a curse word we get introuble. In media if a rapper curses their songs get censored when it goes on the radio. For example this is one of the responses we got back from an interview from Erica Garcia- "Media should be strictly cencored"- Yes she is right media should be strictly censored to a certain limit. But then again why do we have porno.
